Our Story

Making the Journey Together

As a summer project to prepare for middle school, my son and I are writing a Respect Journal.  Respect is a common theme at home, school, clubs, work, church...anywhere there is human interaction.  But what does "respect" actually mean, and how can we achieve it with a generation of children who have almost no social "personal space?"

What seemed like an easy task has quickly become very complex, and I am learning as much from it as my son.  Whether you are in middle school or coasting hard toward 50 years old, this material is still fresh and relevant in a classroom, and in a multi-generational workforce.

I've been a parent for almost 19 years to two wonderful children.  I have been in human resources for 25 years.  But on the blogging thing...that's new.  I don't yet have a presence for the blog on any of the sites shown on the homepage, but I aspire to get to that soon!  For now, the blog site is as much of a journey as the journal itself.  #olddognewtricks
